On the convict records Thomas is known as Fallowell, tried in Nottingham England,on
Thomas arrived in Sydney 5 Jul.1835 on "Marquis of Huntley"and was assigned to Jeremiah Warlters 16 Jul. 1835,he worked for Jeremiah Warlters on his property at Rollands Plains, gaines his Certificate of Freedom on 22 Aug. 1843. Thomas was given a Government Land Grant on the Wilson River on 25 Jan.1859 and called it “Orange Grove”. Here he farmed and was a cattle dealer. He married Mary Webster on 1 Jan. 1849. “Orange Grove” here they raised their family. Mary Farrawell died from heart trouble near Telegraph Point 15 Mar.1877

Ocean was born in Sweden and migrated to Australia.It is surmised
that he had no other relatives in Australia. His father wanted
him to be a Doctor but he wanted to go to sea.
He came from Port Stephens with a friend Mr. George Bretnall
in the “Oyster Shell.” When they arrived at Port Macquarie,they
received a signal that the bar at the mouth of the river was unsafe.
They couldn’t wait, as they were compelled to make the choice.
Chelman lashed himself to the Tiller (the tiller is connected to
the rudder used to steer the boat), while George Bretnall lashed
himself to the Mast.
They succeeded in crossing the bar. people watched from Flag
Staff Hill. The boat was submerged by water with both men as well,
but they managed to survive. The “Oyster Shell” was a fishing smack.
They arrived in 1865.
Ocean married Jane Wilson 25 Mar. 1868 at Port Macquarie
When Ocean's first son was born it is reported that Ocean fainted.
Jane's father was Henry Lewis
Wilson and her mother was Elizabeth Reed.
Ocean died 21 Feb.1914, at the age of 82 years, and Jane
29 Aug.1923 at 76 years. Both Jane and Ocean Chelman are buried in
the Telegraph Point Cemetery.

Thomas Fallowell, aged 14, to stealing on Jan.4, a jacket and a pair of trousers,
the property of Stephen Reynalds and his partner.Twelve months imprisonment.
Thomas Fallowell, aged 17, and John Riddle, aged 14, were charged with stealing on the 6th instant,Thursday last,) a ham, the property of
William Towers, provision dealer, Timber Hill- The prisoners were seen against the prosector's door, by a boy named Young, when the prisoner Riddle,
took the ham from the door, put it under his smock frock, and went down Peck lane; the other prisoner went towards Bridlesmith gate. Both guilty-Falliwell had been before convicted of felony at the April Sessions 1833, to be transported for seven years.
Riddle had been in prison seven times in the last two years and a half, but had nor before been convicted of felony; to be imprisoned for eight months, the first and last month in solitude, and to be once whipped privately.
